Softball Recap: Hurricane Drops Season-High Score on Pine View

Hurricane extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-14 in the process. Everything went their way against the Pine View Panthers as they made off with an 18-11 win. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hurricane got a massive performance out of Faith Fuller, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Fuller has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Hirschi, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hurricane kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

As for Pine View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 16 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. Their loss continues a trend for the team, making it nine in a row.

On Pine View's side, Genevieve Evans and Kylie Carpenter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Evans went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Carpenter went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Kaylee Wood also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Hurricane will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pine View: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
