Basketball Game Preview: Yreka Miners vs. University Prep Panthers

Yreka is 1-9 against University Prep since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Yreka Miners will head out on the road to take on the University Prep Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Yreka didn't have too much trouble with Central Valley as they won 54-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University Prep). They claimed a resounding 73-41 win over Anderson. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted against the Cubs since April 29, 2021.

University Prep pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Yreka, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Yreka lost to University Prep on the road by a decisive 70-54 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Yreka avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
