Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Wins Going Away Against Apollo

Pinnacle won the last time they faced Apollo and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pioneers blew past the Hawks 12-2. With that victory, the Pioneers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Dylan Fisher tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pinnacle got a big performance out of Jack Petroff, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Petroff posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Pinnacle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pinnacle now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Apollo, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Pinnacle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-4 defeat against O'Connor on the 14th. As for Apollo, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Shadow Ridge on the 14th.
