Baseball Recap: Harding Comes Up Short

Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 22-9 to the Johnson Governors. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Governors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mikey Xiong made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alex Oxley, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Harding's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Johnson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.

While Harding had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
