Basketball Game Preview: Lorain Titans vs. Avon Eagles

The Lorain Titans will head out on the road to take on the Avon Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lorain is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Keystone on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lorain was beaten by Keystone 69-24. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while the Wildcats are ranked 160th).

Meanwhile, Avon strolled past North Ridgeville with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 42-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Lorain dropped their record down to 9-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Avon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Lorain might still be hurting after the 67-42 defeat they got from Avon in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Lorain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
