Softball Recap: Fowler Comes Up Short at Home Against Sanger West

Fowler unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 15-6 to the Sanger West Hornets on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Redcats have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Mckenzie Monis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Andreya Mendoza was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Fowler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Coming up, Fowler will be playing at home against Wasco at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Sanger West, they will face off against Kerman at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
