Football Game Preview: Keller Central Chargers vs. V.R. Eaton Eagles

Keller Central hasn't had much luck against V.R. Eaton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chargers will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keller Central has given up an average of 28.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Keller Central came up short against Keller and fell 38-29. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Indians are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, V.R. Eaton fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Bell on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Raiders by a score of 39-37. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (31), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Keller Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for V.R. Eaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Keller Central was dealt a bruising 49-14 loss at the hands of V.R. Eaton when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Eagles' Micah Rivers, who rushed for 145 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Now that the Chargers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
