Softball Recap: Ryan Has No Trouble Against Irving

Ryan never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Irving Tigers 10-0. Considering the Raiders have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Olivia Buettner was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kendall Whitehill was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Kadence Williams was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Ryan and bumps their season record up to 13-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Irving, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ryan will venture away from home to square off against Birdville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Irving, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Irving Tigers challenge Lake Highlands Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
