Softball Recap: Gilbert Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Gilbert's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2025.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Prairie City-Monroe, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Coming up, Gilbert will challenge A-D-M at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. A-D-M's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Gilbert's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Prairie City-Monroe, they will face off against Grand View Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2.1, the Thunder 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
