Basketball Recap: Charlotte Country Day School Takes a Loss

Charlotte Country Day School lost against Providence Day back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Providence Day Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Chargers are ranked ninth).

Despite the loss, Charlotte Country Day School still got an impressive performance from Nick Diaz, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Clark, who posted six points.

Charlotte Country Day School has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Providence Day, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte Country Day School will head out to take on Charlotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Country Day School is facing Charlotte Christian at the right time seeing as Charlotte Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Providence Day, they will venture away from home to face off against Cannon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cannon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Providence Day likes a good challenge.
