Basketball Recap: Grapevine Comes Up Short

If Grapevine was feeling good fresh off their 54-26 takedown of Elgin on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Warriors on Friday.

Grapevine's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Cornerstone Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Grapevine will square off against Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will take on Eagle Pass at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 74.89 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
