Baseball Recap: Vinemont Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Vinemont won against Locust Fork last Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Eagles beat the Hornets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by seven runs or more this season.

Vinemont got a great performance from Banks Borwick as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Borwick has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Rylan McRae and Hayden Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: McRae got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, while Robinson went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Robinson has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Henderson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Vinemont pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Locust Fork, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vinemont will challenge Dora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Locust Fork, they will square off against Southeastern at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
