Basketball Recap: Oakland-Craig Knights vs. Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars
Oakland-Craig entered their tilt with Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They breezed by the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars to the tune of 62-25. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-8.
Leading Oakland-Craig to victory were Briar Ray and Hilary Ray. Briar went 7 for 13 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Hilary posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. Briar continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Anderson also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.
Despite the loss, Lyons-Decatur Northeast still got an impressive performance from Tavyanna Parker, who scored six points and five rebounds.
