Softball Recap: Elkton Takes a Loss

Elkton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-3 to the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Elks of the 22-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Amelia Holloway made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Elkton's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Umpqua Valley Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elkton will square off against rival Yoncalla at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Umpqua Valley Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Camas Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
