The Grayson County Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Galax Maroon Tide at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Grayson County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Grayson County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Carroll County on Thursday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 19-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galax). They put the hurt on Bland County with a sharp 10-4 victory on Friday. The Maroon Tide not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024 (when they won 15-4).

Grayson County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Galax, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13.

Grayson County took their victory against Galax when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
