Softball Recap: Logan County Victorious

Logan County won the last time they faced Glasgow and things went their way on Monday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Scotties by a score of 4-1.

Addison Cartas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 17 Ks. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Reese Wetton was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brenley Adler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Logan County's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Glasgow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logan County will challenge Franklin-Simpson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Glasgow, they will square off against Butler County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
