Basketball Recap: Jasmine Andrew's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kwigillingok over Lewis Angapak

Kwigillingok managed to keep up with Lewis Angapak until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Kwigillingok Eagles lost 66-42 to the Lewis Angapak Blue Jays. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Blue Jays: they've now lost eight in a row.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmine Andrew, who posted 15 points. Kennice Anaver was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Lewis Angapak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Friendly led the charge by as she made all 15 shots she took racking up 31 points. The match was Friendly's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Shalisa McDalton, who made all 10 shots she took for 21 points.

Kwigillingok's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Lewis Angapak, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
