The Marsing Huskies will face off against the Vale Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Marsing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

Marsing is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Cole Valley Christian, who was ranked fifth at the time (Marsing was ranked 20th). Marsing fell just short of Cole Valley Christian by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The game marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Marsing saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Puga, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vale). They blew past Nestucca 14-3 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

This is the second loss in a row for Marsing and nudges their season record down to 4-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Vale, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Marsing took their win against Vale in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2. Does Marsing have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
