Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Sulphur Springs

Pleasant Grove hasn't had much luck against Sulphur Springs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pleasant Grove Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Sulphur Springs Wildcats at 4:30 p.m.

Pleasant Grove came up short against Paris on Tuesday, falling 6-2. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Wildcats are ranked 209th).

Meanwhile, Sulphur Springs waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Panthers an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won 11 contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sulphur Springs' victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Pleasant Grove suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Sulphur Springs in their previous matchup on February 4th. Can Pleasant Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
