Basketball Recap: Rivercrest Takes a Loss

Rivercrest played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Bowie Pirates, falling 62-32. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Rivercrest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Diana Kelley, who posted 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Rivercrest and nudges their season record down to 4-15. As for Bowie, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rivercrest will finish 2024 at home by hosting Campbell at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Bowie, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bloomburg at 1:00 p.m. on December 31st.
