Football Recap: Sunrise Christian Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Sunrise Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 50-38 victory over the Destiny Christian Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Buffaloes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sunrise Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wade Keller led the charge by throwing for 356 yards and six TDs, while also rushing for 44 yards and one score. That's the most passing touchdowns Keller has posted since back in October of 2024. Sunrise Christian Academy's leading receiver Jacob Schwab was Keller's top target yet again, picking up 240 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Sunrise Christian Academy's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out Quincy Jones five times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Keller and Jaxson Williams, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Destiny Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of A'Maurie Rusler, who gained 231 total yards and two touchdowns, and Jones, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of TDs. Rusler is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 157 every time he's taken the field this season.

Sunrise Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Destiny Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.
