Football Recap: Beaver Skates Past Deer Lakes with Ease + How To Watch

Beaver won the last time they faced Deer Lakes and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats took their matchup with ease, bagging a 45-7 victory over the Lancers. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Bobcats this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Avery Scales and Jonah Justice. Scales rushed for 90 yards and one score on only nine carries while Justice rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown. Those 90 rushing yards gave Scales a new career-high. Micah Pupi also helped with two TDs in total.

Beaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive games.

One reason for the win was Beaver's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Justice refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Pupi got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Beaver's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3. As for Deer Lakes, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaver will host North Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Deer Lakes, they will be playing at home against Imani Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' defense has only allowed 5.4 points per game this season, so the Lancers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
