Basketball Recap: Cedar Valley Comes Up Short on the Road Against Spanish Fork

Cedar Valley kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spanish Fork Dons. If the Aviators were looking for revenge after losing 43-42 to the Dons when the teams met back in January, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Cedar Valley lost, don't look at Austin Biehl. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Smith, who put up seven points.

Spanish Fork's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Houston Farnsworth, who had ten points and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Farnsworth a new career-high in shooting accuracy (50%). Gage Christensen was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Cedar Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Salem Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spanish Fork, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-57 defeat against Richfield on the 20th.
