Football Game Preview: Carlisle Indians vs. Cayuga Wildcats + How To Watch

Carlisle is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Cayuga Wildcats will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Carlisle will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Carlisle is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shelbyville last Friday. Despite 158 more yards than the Dragons, the Indians couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Carlisle got top-tier performance from Ivan Garza, who rushed for 122 yards and five TDs, and also picked up 66 receiving yards. Garza didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss). Joseph Mejia was another key player, rushing for 123 yards.

Meanwhile, Cayuga waltzed into their game last Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the EAGLES, posting a 56-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Cayuga's win came from a few key players Carlisle will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kase Dickson, who threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunner Douglas, who rushed for 41 yards and a pair of scores.

Carlisle now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Cayuga, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Carlisle couldn't quite finish off Cayuga when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 44-41. Thankfully for the Indians, Shiloh Peckham (who rushed for 213 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
