Baseball Game Preview: Crawford Colts vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders

The Crawford Colts will challenge the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Crawford and four for St. Joseph Academy.

Crawford saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 7-3 to Sweetwater. That's two games in a row now that the Colts have lost by exactly four runs.

Crawford got a good showing from Alejandro Guzman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Guzman a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Hector Fuentes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Abraham Carillo-Ceron, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy came up short against Borrego Springs on Friday and fell 10-6.

St. Joseph Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Crawford, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
