Basketball Game Preview: St. Albans Red Dragons vs. Oak Hill Red Devils

The St. Albans Red Dragons will face off against the Oak Hill Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Albans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

St. Albans is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Nitro, who was ranked third at the time (St. Albans was ranked 16th). St. Albans received a blow on Thursday as they fell 52-36 to Nitro. The Red Dragons have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Samyah Riggan, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Triniti Austin-Russell was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oak Hill had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Black Eagles 60-25. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

St. Albans' defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Oak Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.

St. Albans took their victory against Oak Hill in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 54-33. Does St. Albans have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oak Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
