Volleyball Recap: Fowlerville Takes a Loss

Fowlerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ovid-Elsie Marauders. While the Gladiators didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Marauders 25-17 in the first set.

Fowlerville actually scored more points across those three sets (69-68), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Fowlerville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ovid-Elsie, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

After both having extra time off, Fowlerville and Mason will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on September 4. This will be the Gladiators' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Ovid-Elsie, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Adrian on the 27th.
