Basketball Recap: Firelands Comes Up Short

If Firelands was feeling good fresh off their 67-47 takedown of Black River last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firelands Falcons lost 73-53 to the Brookside Cardinals on Saturday. The Falcons have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Firelands' defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Brookside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Firelands is taking a road trip to square off against Keystone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keystone knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Firelands likes a good challenge. As for Brookside, they will take on Berea-Midpark at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
