Baseball Recap: Portage Find Success

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Portage ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the River Valley Blackhawks. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.

Portage now has a winning record of 9-8. As for River Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portage will venture away from home to face off against Reedsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for River Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Cuba City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
