Basketball Recap: Quaker Valley Piles Up the Points Against Derry

Quaker Valley won the last time they faced Derry and things went their way on Saturday too. The Quaker Valley Quakers breezed by the Derry Trojans to the tune of 58-27. The Quakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Quaker Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominic Cox-Giles, who posted eight points along with 11 boards and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Cox-Giles a new career-high in steals (five). Zach Washington was another key player, going 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Quaker Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Derry, their record now sits at 2-2.

Quaker Valley will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Carrick at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Derry, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Connellsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
