Flag Football Game Preview: Ripon Indians vs. Hilmar Yellowjackets

The Ripon Indians will face off against the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Ripon 14.6, Hilmar 8.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Ripon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Hughson with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 37-20. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their six-point performance the game before.

Ripon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ana Shriver, who threw for 217 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 47 yards. What's more, Shriver racked up 134.9 passer rating, the most she's had since September 1st. Ava Aguirre was another key rusher, gaining 140 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Hilmar entered their tilt with Escalon on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. Considering the Yellowjackets have won ten contests by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ripon's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Hilmar, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
