Football Recap: Bristow Comes Up Short

Bristow lost against Wagoner back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Bulldogs. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shane Bethel and Mack Powell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Bethel rushed for 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Powell rushed for 128 yards and one TD. Powell was even better on defense, picking up 1.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making nine total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Bristow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Will Remington and Cain Clay.

Bristow now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wagoner, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Bristow has already played their next contest, a 51-28 win against Victory Christian on the 26th. As for Wagoner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 47-25 loss against Fort Gibson on the 26th.
