Preview: Green Forest Tigers vs. Valley Springs Tigers
Green Forest is 1-9 against Valley Springs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Green Forest Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Valley Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Green Forest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Green Forest had to suffer through a rough 58-29 loss at the hands of Elkins. Green Forest has struggled against Elkins recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Green Forest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brayden Compton, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, and Sebastian Holsted who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Compton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played.
Valley Springs has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 61-49 to Bergman on Tuesday.
Green Forest has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season. As for Valley Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-12.
Green Forest might still be hurting after the 63-39 loss they got from Valley Springs when the teams last played back in January. Can Green Forest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
