Recap: Weddington Warriors vs. Butler Bulldogs
After a string of three wins, the Weddington Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Butler. Weddington lost against Butler in their previous head to head back in December of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-38 score last time.
Weddington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caroline Clark, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds, and Madison Motto who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds. Clark scored a full 48.8% of Weddington's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Weddington's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Weddington will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Independence knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Weddington likes a good challenge. As for Butler, they will head out on the road to face off against Garinger at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Garinger will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
