Basketball Game Preview: Lake County Falcons vs. Union City Golden Tornadoes

Lake County is 1-9 against Union City since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lake County Falcons will be playing at home against the Union City Golden Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Lake County turned things around against South Fulton on Tuesday. They blew past the Red Devils, posting a 65-38 victory. The game marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Union City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-57 heartbreaker at the hands of Dresden.

Lake County's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Union City, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Things could have been worse for Lake County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-39 loss to Union City when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Lake County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
