Athens Drive has gone a perfect 9-0 against Sanderson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Jaguars will head out to take on the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Athens Drive managed to keep up with Broughton until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Jaguars came up short against the Capitals, falling 5-2. That's two games in a row now that Athens Drive have lost by exactly three goals.

Molly Anderson and Deanna Alkhawaja scored both of Athens Drive's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, Sanderson fell victim to Cardinal Gibbons and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Crusaders. While losing is never fun, Sanderson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Cardinal Gibbons are ranked 16th).

Sanderson has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Athens Drive, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Athens Drive beat Sanderson by a goal when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
