Softball Recap: Ellis Gets the Win

Ellis took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Larned, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Railroaders had just enough and edged out the Indians 3-2 on Friday.

Larned's batters probably weren't too happy with Lyla Zimmerman, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up zero walks).

At the plate, Ellis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kia Mader, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ellis' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Larned, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Ellis by a score of 13-2 later that day.
