It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northgate had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons 9-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Max Carlos tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Christopher Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Dress, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Northgate's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15-1 record this season.

Northgate will challenge Piedmont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Broncos 2, the Highlanders 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Bishop O'Dowd does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
