Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Shaker Heights

Shaker Heights strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Euclid Panthers as they made off with a 17-4 win. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Scout Harvey tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emerson Miller was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Milan Richardson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Shaker Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Shaker Heights' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Euclid, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Coming up, Shaker Heights will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cleveland Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Euclid, they will head out on the road to take on Lorain at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season.
