Football Recap: Newton's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newton won the last time they faced Kittatinny Regional and things went their way on Friday too. The Braves came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 40-29. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Braves were the (much) better team in the second half.

Despite the loss, Kittatinny Regional still got an impressive performance from Jack Brex, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 166 yards and two TDs.

The win (which was Newton's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games. As for Kittatinny Regional, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Newton is taking a road trip to face off against Mountain Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kittatinny Regional, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Dover at 12:00 p.m. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
