Basketball Recap: San Pasqual Takes a Loss

San Pasqual lost against Valley Center back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The San Pasqual Golden Eagles fell to the Valley Center Jaguars 45-39. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, San Pasqual still got an impressive performance from Kaleo Bartolome, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Bartolome a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Canon Palmquist also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Even though they lost, San Pasqual smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Dustin Hotchkiss had an outrageously good game for Valley Center as he went 6-for-13 to rack up 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Lincoln Zetmeir was another key player, putting up 16 points.

San Pasqual's defeat dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Valley Center, their record now sits at 9-18.

San Pasqual does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valley Center, they have already played their next match, an 86-60 loss against Bishop's on the 14th.
