Basketball Preview: Francis Parker Wyverns vs. Burgin Bulldogs
Francis Parker and the Bulldogs are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Francis Parker Wyverns' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Burgin Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kentucky (Francis Parker is ranked 269th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 266th).
Last Tuesday, Francis Parker earned a 60-49 victory over the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Burgin pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Bluegrass United by a score of 67-65. Burgin's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Francis Parker's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Burgin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
Francis Parker barely slipped by the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 51-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Francis Parker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
