Temple City is a perfect 10-0 against San Marino since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rams will challenge the Titans at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Temple City took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Pasadena, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers on Friday, sneaking past 8-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, while San Marino put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Immaculate Heart. The Titans didn't even let the Pandas on the board, marking the Titans' second-straight 19-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Kelly Muditajaya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Angel Barrera was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Mata, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
San Marino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win got San Marino back to even at 6-6. As for Temple City, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-7.
Temple City skirted past San Marino 8-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
