Softball Recap: Jackson Christian Eagles vs. St. George's Gryphons

Jackson Christian was the 16-0 winner over St. George when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Gryphons by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bailey Robinson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Maggie Coffman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
