Baseball Recap: Urbana Comes Up Short

Urbana extended their losing streak to 11 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-14. They fell 4-0 to the Danville Vikings. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Urbana saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marquan Dunn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Danville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games.

On Danville's side, the result came thanks to Alex McQuown's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Vikings beat Urbana by a score of 7-6 later that day.
