Baseball Recap: Daingerfield Has No Trouble Against Jefferson

Daingerfield barely beat Jefferson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-1 victory on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd.

Tanner Teeter and Isaiah Parker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Teeter struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Parker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave Teeter a new career-high. At the plate, Teeter went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Parker scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Parker has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Foster, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Blackburn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Daingerfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only managed five hits.

The win snapped Daingerfield's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6-1 record. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15-1 record this season.

Daingerfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jefferson: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
