Football Game Preview: Covington-Douglas Wildcats vs. Wilson-Henryetta Tigers + Official Tickets

The Covington-Douglas Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Wilson-Henryetta Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Thursday. Covington-Douglas claimed a resounding 42-6 victory over Olive. With Covington-Douglas ahead 34-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Covington-Douglas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Cooper Wheeler led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Rylan Fisher also rushed for 102 rushing yards, which is notable because Covington-Douglas is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Wilson-Henryetta had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four last Friday. Everything went their way against the Hornets as they made off with a 62-36 win. Wilson-Henryetta's victory was all the more impressive since the Hornets were averaging only 13.78 points allowed on the season.

The win got Covington-Douglas back to even at 5-5. As for Wilson-Henryetta, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
