Softball Recap: Independence Patriots vs. Butler Bulldogs

After flying high against Mallard Creek last Friday, Independence came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Butler Bulldogs by a score of 6-5 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in March.

Independence saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Maultsby, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Alexis Agurs was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Butler, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
