Camarillo extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 10-16 in the process. They came up short against the Royal Highlanders, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, with their most recent loss being a 14-4 defeat on Wednesday.

Braden Huber was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Grant Tsuji made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
As for Royal, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Royal, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Royal's side, Dean Barkman tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts Barkman has posted since back in March.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Stout, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zachary Nagy, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Camarillo will challenge rival Oak Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Royal is set to face off against their familiar foe Simi Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Highlanders 2.2, the Pioneers 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
