Basketball Recap: San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy Comes Up Short

On Monday, the San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy Pirates ended up a good deal behind the KIPP Somos Collegiate Tigers and lost 44-26.

KIPP Somos Collegiate found their leader in freshman Elizabeth Pena, who posted 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pena has scored all season. Julissa Perez was another key player, putting up ten points.

San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for KIPP Somos Collegiate, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Antonio S.T.E.A.M. Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on KIPP Somos Collegiate at 5:30 p.m. on January 15, 2025. As for KIPP Somos Collegiate, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the KIPP Somos Collegiate Tigers duke it out with the Young Women's Leadership Academy Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
